The main objective of the Center for e-Governance Program @ SEE is to provide in the participating countries of SEE (Republic of Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Republic of Serbia and Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia) a common regional tool for the creation and the transfer of knowledge with regard to eGovernance, electronic trade, growth of modern public administration and reform of political institutions.
The Program aims to offer e-Government and ICT training sessions to executives of regional governments and public/private institutions. The sessions intend to transfer relative information between experts of SEE countries and work as an educative tool in increasing governmental efficiency, improving democratic and economic processes and expanding the use of e-Governance in the area.
Another major objective of the Program is to provide networking opportunities to regional experts in order to enable experience exchange and international cooperation. In this way, the Program encourage participants to adopt common organised e-Governance actions that have more chances to be supported by sponsors, governments and institutions. Furthermore, a short-term objective is to participate actively in the development of national and regional e-Governance strategy and to contribute in the growth of the e-Government expert network.
In a long-term context, the Center for e-Governance Program @ SEE is expected to help SEE countries in decentralisation, suppression of bureaucracy, involvement of citizens in democratic processes and improvement of governmental mechanisms. In this way, involved countries will promote new technologies and by utilising e-Governance will serve citizen efficiently and transparently.
